Burn Boot Camp Monthly Blog

October 13, 2016

Give yourself a pat on the back. Really. Stop reading this for just a moment, and give yourself a pat on the back. As a fellow mom, I celebrate everything you’ve managed to get done today. See, I don’t even have to ask you if had a busy day. I know it was. There are doctor appointments, and after school practices. You have to go to work and volunteer in your child’s class. You manage to squeeze in a work out and do the laundry. Welcome to motherhood, week in and week out.

The problem is that all that rushing around can lead to bad decision making when it comes to feeding your family. It’s easy to grab fast food but, chances are, you’ll end up feeling guilty about it later.

I’ve found that serving up healthy meals isn’t as hard as I used to think.

Here is a meal that doesn’t take much effort and will nourish your family as much as you love them!

This week, find at least one day the whole family can eat together! You’ll be glad you did when you go to bed exhausted, as usual, but feeling more connected! As a bonus, you’ll save money eating at home and studies show that kids who ate dinner with their family eat more fruits and vegetables and less soda and fried foods. Now that’s a healthy habit to start!
