Meadowsong Studios Kid's Drop in Art Discovery Centers

August 4, 2016

Meadowsong Studios  (meadowsongstudios.com) offers Kid’s Drop-In Art Discovery Centers at their rustic open-air art, pottery and photography studio near Fall Creek.  Visitors should dress for the weather and be ready for peacocks, mini horses and Koko the cockatoo who hangs out around the studio! Students are welcome to bring a snack and a water bottle.

All sessions and classes at Meadowsong are led by a licensed K-12 art educator who teaches k-5 during the school year and is a past Wisconsin elementary art teacher of the year.  Art Discovery Centers grew from the realization that art classes during the school year are wonderful, but often students would love more time and more chances to just experiment with ideas and media.  Art Discovery Centers are for children entering 1st grade through high school, each child will be encouraged to work at their own level.  Students entering 4k and 5k are welcome with an adult helper.

Each Wednesday morning (June 15-Aug 17) the 10:00-11:30 am sessions will have 3 or more centers open to experiment with or focus on, depending on the child’s interest.  Painting, drawing, weaving, printmaking, recycled art, felting, glass mosaic, collage, etc. will be offered on various days.  Clay handbuilding will be offered each day but requires 2 visits to complete a project.
